Competitive Advantages

Palcan competes directly with developers of small PEM based fuel cell systems (i.e. 100w to 6kw).

Palcan’s advantages over its competitors are:

LOWER COST

• Presently as the only Western based fuel cell Company that manufactures similar Fuel cell products Palcan enjoys lower component, labour and infrastructure costs than its western based competitors.

CLIENT SUPPORT

• It’s basic, when introducing a new technology to customers, consumers or commercial, it is essential to maintain close relationship with clients to provide a effective and timely support when needed. Palcan’s western based competitors can not easily provide this support in Asia, Palcan can.

For regions outside of China Palcan is building a distribution network that will provide timely support.

STACKS

• Palcan integrates Ballard Fuel cell stacks into its products. Ballard’s PEM based stacks are the most reliable stacks in the world and thus provide Palcan’s clients the assurance they need that Palcan’s products will provide the power when it is needed most.

Palcan has its own stacks (500 to 1KW) which it can deploy as a 2nd source to Ballard’s stack, if required.

HYDROGEN SUPPLY

• A significant barrier to fuel cell earlier adoption has been the storage and distribution of hydrogen. A fuel cell device is of little use if the fuel that runs it is not readily available or not safe.

Palcan’s proprietary H2 storage system can supply sufficient H2 to meet the average or better anticipated requirement, is easy to handle, light weight and safe to store.

SYSTEM INTEGRATION AND CONTROL

• Many competitors integrate purchased components which makes system optimization difficult and performance inconsistency. Palcan, other than the Ballard stack, has direct control of all core components and subsystem development.
