Palcan offers four lines of products or services:
(1) Fuel Cell backup power/UPS and Portable generator
Fuel cell power sources are best suited for the applications in which the power need is low (<10kw) and the energy needs are high (>10kWh). In other words, fuel cell power sources can compete in applications where required backup times are long and the effects are low. Fuel cell have a long lifetime, especially in standby mode, Fuel cells also provide clean and quiet power without the noise, odour, vibration, and carbon footprint associated with conventional generators (gasoline or diesel generators). Fuel cell power sources are maintenance-free and they are insensitive (not like battery) to both high and low temperature. Palcan currently offer two products:
- PALUPS600 is designed to provide clean, quiet, uninterrupted power at 600 watts (800 watts peak). It is ideal to ensure critical business equipments (telecommunication, data processing, networks, security and safety) remain functional over extended time periods when primary power is lost

- PALPPS300 is designed to provide 300 watts Dc/AC power for carrying around application. The specially designed hydrogen storage canister can offer 3 hours run time and can be switched to a filled one within seconds

(2) Customer's Systems Integration
Systems level optimization is the key to Palcan's integrated product solution strategy. Design and manufacturing knowledge relating to core component and subsystem development in key systems gives the Company a significant advantage over competitors who are simply integrating purchased components

(3) Integrated renewable power sources
Palcan currently offers a 1kw integrated renewable power generator which use solar or wind as energy sources and fuel cell as power generator. The whole system includes five modules:
- Solar/wind panel
- Electrolyzer
- Metal hydride hydrogen storage
- Fuel cell generator
- Supervisory controller

(4) Metal Hydride Hydrogen Storage Devices
Metal hydrides, which are formed when metal atoms bond with hydrogen to form stable compounds, are ideal mediums for portable hydrogen fuel storage. Because the hydrogen is stored in a solid metal matrix at a low pressure of 6-10 atm. and has slow release rate hydrides provide safety advantages in comparison to high pressure compressed storage. Metal hydrides are extremely well suited for use in consumer products requiring safety, ease of operation and distribution through conventional stores. In Palcan's portable products, refueling can be simply performed by replacing a small hydrogen metal hydride canister. Palcan's joint venture in metal hydrides targets material with the following advantages over competing products:
- Long term stability
- Low cost
- Long life (over 500 charge cycles)
- Ambient temperature operation (25° C nominal)
- Good resistance to impurities
Three standard canisters are available for the customers.
Big devices of 800 liters and 6000 liters are also available.
